| Dear Dr. Short Legs, I am a
very odd horse. My ears are too big, my legs are too short, I don't like
apples, and so on. How do I know if I really am a horse? What if I'm a
pony or something?
Sincerely,
WHAT AM I???

| Dear Dr. Short Legs, I am a
horse with short legs - just like you! Some of my friends say I am
not a horse, but a pony. I don't understand since my mom and dad
are horses! My friends say I was probably adopted but I tell them
it can't be true, since other REAL horses also have short legs (just
like you). What do you think? How do I tell if I am a pony
or a horse with short legs?
Desperately waiting for your response,

| Dear Dr. Short Legs, I am a
white horse, but when I go for rides in the forest my white coat keeps
getting spotted with mud and it annoys me. Burrs also get stuck to
my hair, and since I am a white horse they are very noticeable.
What can I do to clean my coat and get rid of burrs?
Yours truly,

| Dear Dr. Short Legs, I am a
horse who likes to be very clean, but lately I have been attracting
flies. They are very annoying and pesky, and some of them make my
skin itch. How do I keep these annoying pests away?
Yours hopefully,

| Dear Dr. Short Legs, I have
an embarrassing problem that I can't seem to stop: every time I go
out for rides I, ahem, go to the bathroom. I try to wait until I
get home, but, well, I just can't. Is this normal?
Signed,
Horse Man Ure |

Dear Horse Man Ure,
It is ok, you should not be embarrassed. Most horses go to the
bathroom in the arena. If it really, really, really, REALLY
embarrasses you, try not eating until you get home.

| Dear Dr. Short Legs, I am
very frustrated. My horse won't eat anything I feed it! I've even tried
feeding it apples and sugar cubes, (its favourite treats) but nothing
will work! What can I do?
Yours Truly,

Dear Hungry Horse,
I would suggest seeing a vet as your horse has the symptoms of colic.
Hope it's not too late as this can be serious, but I think you will be
ok. One more suggestion: put some mint in his oats and give him a good
brush.
Yours truly,
Dr Short Legs

Dear Dr. Short Legs,
My horse never listens to me. What can I do to make him listen?
Sincerely,
Frustrated with Horses |
17-Oct-2008 |
Dear frustrated with horses:
There are plenty of ways to make a horse listen to you. The 2 most
popular ones are:
1. Give him a tap with your leg
2. Get a crop and tap him on the shoulder.
If this doesn't work I would suggest you sell your horse.
Yours,
Dr. Short Legs.
